Prayer

Our Prayer Life

Prayer is an important part of the school day. We have a collection of prayers which are said throughout the day; these vary throughout the school dependent on age. We also encourage free prayer and ensure children know that they can talk to God anywhere, anytime and in different ways. Children are taught that prayer is a conversation with God and that whilst they may not hear his response, God is always listening. Opportunities are provided for children to write their own prayers which are sometimes shared during worships throughout the week. Additionally, we have a prayer wall in our central worship area which children can add to throught the half-term.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom,
the power and the glory are yours.
Now and for ever.

We also share weekly prayers with our whole community via our school newsletter. If you wish further guidance on prayer or wish to join in the daily prayer from Liverpool Cathedral please click on the link below…
