Confirmation

Confirmation Classes

Each year, the children in Years 5 and 6 will be offered the opportunity to take part in Confirmation classes to prepare them to be Confirmed into the Christian family.  Confirmation classes are optional, with children being invited to take part if they wish to make the personal choice of taking their next step on their own faith journey by reaffirming the promises that were made on behalf of them at the time of their Baptism.

In order to take part in Confirmation classes, children need to have first been Baptised.  Information regarding their Baptism must be shared as part of the Confirmation process.

Classes will take place weekly over the course of approximately 6 weeks, which will lead the children to their Confirmation Service, after which they will take their first Holy Communion.

Staff and parents are also welcome to be confirmed; if you wish to find out more about Confirmation, please contact the school office and we will provide you with information for how you can contact a member of the local Clergy to find out more.

Confirmation 2022-23

This academic year 14 of our children in Years 5 and 6 took part in Confirmation classes, along with Mrs Duckett and Miss Kenyon.  Reverend Pat Gray (Newchurch) worked with the group to lead them through their journey to Confirmation.

Mrs Duckett's Confirmation Service was held in Liverpool Cathedral on Monday 21st November 2022, whilst everybody else had their Confirmation Service at Newchurch Parish Church on Thursday 23rd February 2023.  Bishop Beverley Mason led both services.

On Thursday 23rd March, Reverend Pat Gray and Rupert Rees (Newchurch) led the children's first Holy Communion Service at Winwick; a very special time indeed.
