New Reception 2024-25

“Pupils enjoy attending this friendly, caring school. They are proud to be part of its community. The core values of love, perseverance and respect thread through all aspects of school life. These values encourage pupils to rise to the school’s high expectations for their achievement. Pupils, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), achieve well. They are well prepared for the next stage of their education.” – Ofsted rated ‘Good’, October 2023

"The Christian vision and its associated values underpin the purpose of the curriculum. They serve as a moral and ethical compass, guiding pupils’ development and decision making. This ensures that learning is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about developing character and values."  - SIAMS, October 2023

Welcome to Winwick Church of England Primary School!

Welcome to our school!  Whether your child is joining us next year because they have a sibling here already, or if you are considering enrolling your child with us for September, starting school is a big decision.

To help you come to the right decision for your child, we would encourage you to come to our open mornings - bring your child along too.  Visit as many other schools as you can so you can get that 'feel' about a building; the children, the staff team and how everyone interacts within the setting. Through doing this, you will then know which school is the right choice for your child: somewhere they will be happy, secure, safe and get the best possible chance in life to succeed.

On this page you will see the dates for the open mornings and also an evening session where you can come and meet our children, staff and see our excellent facilities. We will go through how and when to apply and what you need to do if you are putting in for a Church place, or any other criteria on the criteria on the Admissions Policy.

Once you have been guaranteed a place at Winwick, we will get in touch to welcome you officially and outline the next steps for you and your child so that everyone is ready for the September start. All the transition events would be set out in a welcome letter with the relevant dates.

There are various transition events to help you all become a part of our family, starting with a welcome meeting for you as parents to see round our wonderful school, meet our wider staff, Governor and PTFA team and go through what to expect when your child starts with us.

We then have morning and afternoon sessions where your child will come and meet the Reception staff team and stay and make new friends with others in the class, as well as having a Teddy Bears’ Picnic.

Our excellent Reception staff team will also arrange sessions to meet with you as a family at school and would contact the feeder nurseries to chat with them about your child and arrange visits to go and meet your child in their nursery setting.

We have put together a range of information below, for both you as adults and also for your child, so it will hopefully answer any questions you may have prior to filling in an application.

You will also find lots of further information on the wider website which we hope will be useful.

If you do have further questions, then don't hesitate to email/ call school and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

We look forward to meeting you, hopefully very soon,

Mrs Laura Duckett & the staff team of Winwick CE
