Geography

At Winwick CE, we love Geography and enjoy learning about the world, the environment and the people who live in it. On this page you will find our Long Term overview plan which gives an overview of what we teach and when. A more detailed coverage document is held within school which the teachers plan from, this ensures there is progression and sequencing of concepts from Early Years through to Year 6.

On this page you will see some of the fabulous learning we have done in Geography which we wanted to share.

KS2 Volcanoes and Earthquakes

We have been learning about Volcanoes and Earthquakes.

We have really enjoyed learning about the active volcano in LA Palma. We have written our own newspaper reports.

After painting our volcanoes we decided to make them erupt!

We also made chatterbox volcanoes to help us learn more about what goes on inside a volcano.

KS2 - Europe

We have been learning all about Europe, we had fun learning about the Mediterranean.  We made short adverts persuading our friends to visit!

KS2 - The UK

We have been learning about the UK.  We used an atlas to find physical features, we looked at mountain ranges, rivers and oceans.  We've learned about the Capital cities of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and studied human and physical features.

We planned our own day trips.  What geographical language can you hear?

EYFS - The Seaside
