OPENING FOR KEY WORKERS

From Monday 23rd March 2020, the school will be open, only to those children who:

  •          have both parents/carers who are critical workers
  •          are part of a single parent family of a critical worker
  •          are in receipt of EHCP funding

HOME LEARNING:
Please see the different class pages/individual home learning pages for activities and guidance for supporting your child with their learning at home.  In addition to this, the children can access Purple Mash, TTRockstars and SumDog (Spelling & Maths), Reading Plus (Y2-6) and for Reception - Evidence Me.

New home learning pages will be turned on at the beginning of each week to provide you with new activities.  Please feel free to use these how you see fit.  There are also a range of other education programmes and websites that you can access - we will update different sections of our website to signpost you to these.  We appreciate that you may also be working from home and/or have other demands on your time; we do not expect you to try and provide children with the same educational opportunities that they would be getting if school were open as normal.  All we ask is that you try and keep the children in some form of a routine and ensure that they have regular opportunities to read.  Our learning resources and provided to support you but please do not feel under any pressure; we know that we are in challenging times.

If your children are struggling with activities from their own year group, why not try looking at the year group below?

Weeks beginning 6th April and 13th April/25th May and 1st June:  These would be our usual school holidays.  We do not expect children to complete any home learning - take the time to be together and cherish this time as a family.  We will not be turning on any new weeks of home learning during this time, however, there are still lots of resources on the website should you wish to use them.

PARENT/CARER LETTERS

Below you will find all parental letters that have been sent out via School PING during school closure.

BUSINESS CONTINUITY - School Closures (Opening for Key Workers)

To ensure that our school can remain open for key worker/vulnerable children, we have reviewed our staff team and will be operating on a weekly skeleton staff rota using 3 teams.  On-site, we will have: Designated Safeguarding Lead (Member of the SLT), First Aider, Fire Warden.

Areas of the school that are in use will be deep cleaned daily and, during the day, staff will ensure that all those on-site are taking steps for safe, social distancing as well as providing opportunities for regular hand washing.

Children will be provided with a meal at lunch time; if you will be sending your child with their own packed lunch, please inform school.

Children attending school should wear comfortable clothing and trainers and bring their coat too - please ensure children are wearing a new change of clothing each day.  They should bring a water bottle, labelled with their name, and book bag with their home learning resources, so that these can be completed while they are on-site. In warm weather, please ensure your child comes to school already wearing suncream; you can send in additional sun cream which they can apply during the day if needed.

School Opening Hours for Key Workers/Vulnerable Children:  8.45am to 3.20pm
(NB. Children who can be safely cared for at home MUST be kept at home - thank you.)

If children require a place in school, please email the school on winwick_primary@warrington.gov.uk each morning that they require a place, by 8.00am, so that we can review our staffing for the day.
